THE CAYLIX STORY
Le Roux Conradie has not only been living his dream through Caylix Sport Management, but he is also turning dreams and great ideas into reality.
From the new Caylix Sport Head Office at 7 Krige Street in Stellenbosch, Conradie says: “I always had a passion for sport and using sport to contribute to make a difference in our communities and country. My opportunity came when I met Charl Faurie and, in 2007, bought the company from him. I consider myself as extremely privileged that my work is my passion.”
Caylix Sport manages the Living Legends project, which was developed and founded by Conradie and Debbie Human. Some 8 000 school kids in and around Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and the Helderberg areas are currently benefiting from this project.
Kinetic Kids, the brainchild of Mario Penwarden, became part of the Caylix Sport family late last year. This programme is based on movement development in primary schools, where the implemented programmes are curriculum orientated for grade R to grade 7 pupils.
Caylix Sport most notably has brought the Curro Junior ITF and Digicall Future International Tennis Tournaments to Stellenbosch, which will again take place this year September and November respectively. A further development from this initiative is the National Curro Tennis Model to be established at Curro Schools across the country, scheduled to commence between July and January.
With Caylix Sport recently having acquired a share in the Redmond Tennis Club in Seattle, USA, Faurie has joined the Caylix Sport team again to manage this Club abroad. Stellenbosch University’s Maties Tennis and Golf clubs are also both managed by Caylix Sport.
Conradie and his team organises various golf days as well as local and international tours.
Conradie added: “Through what we do, how we do it and with whom we do it, this company should set an example of a business operating with strong values and building strong collaborative partnerships for the benefit of all.”
